Tasks

-Support engineers in preparing design reports, calculations, and technical documentation. -Prepare detailed engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or similar design software). -Liaise with statutory bodies, local authorities, contractors, and utility providers. -Assist in the design and detailing of highways, drainage, and earthworks in accordance with UK standards. -Maintain accurate project records and drawings using the company’s document management systems. -Ensure all work complies with current design standards, health and safety legislation, and company procedures. -Undertake site surveys, inspections, and data collection as required. -Contribute to the preparation of planning, tender, and construction packages.

About the Role - We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Civil Engineering Technician to join our expanding team in Dundee. You will assist in the preparation of design drawings, technical documents, and digital models for a variety of civil and infrastructure projects, including highways, drainage, earthworks, and structural works. -Experience working in a consultancy or local authority environment. -Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and working knowledge of Civil 3D or MicroDrainage. -Proven experience in a civil engineering or infrastructure design environment in the UK. -Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. -Experience in sustainable drainage (SuDS) design and environmental considerations. -Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and communication skills. -Working towards EngTech or Incorporated status with ICE or CIHT. -Familiarity with BIM processes and digital design tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks). -HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. -Good understanding of UK design standards and construction practices (e.g., DMRB, Sewers for Adoption, Building Regulations).
