Tasks

As a CAD Designer at Moreton Hire, you will play a pivotal role in transforming client briefs into detailed technical drawings and 3D visualisations. You’ll work closely with our sales, production, and fabrication teams to ensure design intent is translated into buildable, cost-effective solutions that meet both aesthetic and structural requirements. -Collaborate with project managers, account managers, and production teams to ensure feasibility and compliance with safety and engineering standards. -Maintain drawing standards and file management protocols. -Participate in client meetings to understand design intent and provide technical input. -Develop 2D and 3D CAD drawings for exhibition stands, marquees, signage, and event infrastructure. -Assist with the development of design templates and libraries for recurring event formats. -Translate conceptual sketches and client briefs into detailed fabrication-ready documentation. -Support the fabrication team with clarification and updates during the build process.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with Australian building codes and event safety standards. -Experience in the events, exhibitions, or fit-out industries is highly regarded. -Ability to produce accurate, scaled drawings under tight deadlines. -Willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture. -Proficiency in AutoCAD -Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally. -White Card and working knowledge of WHS practices preferred. -A proactive mindset with a passion for design and problem-solving. -Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. -Strong understanding of structural drafting and fabrication methods across timber, metal, and composite materials.
