Tasks

-Assess project requirements, break projects into tasks, and work with Project Managers to determine the scope of work while overseeing budget and staffing. -Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within IPS, externally with clients, and with other relevant design professionals. -Prepare engineering studies and schematic designs for new mechanical systems and analyze the operation of existing systems. -Write scopes of work for mechanical designs based on preliminary reviews and client meetings. -Work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required. -Assign and review the work of the project design teams.

What You Bring

-15 years of engineering experience with ten of those doing mechanical designs on industrial, light industrial, or large-scale commercial projects. -Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering. -Ability to develop mechanical discipline-specific construction budgets based on the project scope. -Working knowledge of piping analysis and modeling software. -Ability to perform target cost design work when projects have initial target construction costs. -Working knowledge of energy analysis and simulation software systems. -Around 5 years of central utility plant design experience related to chilled water, condenser water, hot water, and steam systems.
