A business-critical controller position has opened up with a growing consumer products brand. The controller oversees month-end reporting, cash flow, systems, and compliance, ensuring the business operates with accuracy and discipline. Throughout this role, the controller will evaluate SOPs, Internal controls, and Wholesale vs Consumer sales.

  • Establish deadlines, controls, and standards for all deliverables
  • Lead all daily accounting operations: GL, AR, AP, inventory accounting, and COGS reconciliation.
  • Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation for scale and audit readiness.
  • Manage outsourced accounting, tax, AR, and AP partners.
  • Prepare Budget vs Actual reporting with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Support board and investor reporting.
  • Optimize the finance tech stack for scalability and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate system alignment between operational and financial data.
  • coordinate workflows between bookkeeping teams, tax advisors, and specialized vendors.
  • Improve payables, receivables, and inventory costing processes to support cash management.
  • Support HR and payroll processes.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing on trade spend accruals, promotional accounting, and margin reporting.
  • Maintain an accurate chart of accounts across all channels.
  • Work with Operations on inventory management, landed cost, and freight reconciliation.
  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close with complete, GAAP-compliant financial statements.
  • Implement automation across reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting.

  • Advanced proficiency in QBO, Bill.com, and Excel
  • Own integrations and data consistency across QBO, Cin7 Core, Bill.com, Settle, Shopify, and Amazon.
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and understanding of revenue recognition across DTC, Amazon, and Wholesale.
  • A CPA or a public accounting foundation preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience (CPG, food, or consumer brands strongly preferred).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating independently in a high-growth environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Cin7 Core (DEAR), Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, and inventory costing.
