The Role

Overview

Install, maintain and repair LV/HV electrical systems for distribution, commercial, industrial.

Tasks

-Joint and terminate LV cables (up to and including 1kV) and assemble electrical panels, junction boxes, ring main units, switchgear, - and transformers. -Load break switch, auto-recloser, and regulator installations -Install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and systems in electricity distribution, commercial, and industrial networks. -Ensure that all health, safety, and environmental requirements are met while delivering excellent service to our customers. -Perform network switching, isolating equipment to carry out maintenance or restore service when competent to do so. -Contribute to the team’s performance, ensuring work is done efficiently and to high standards. -Carry out electrical testing and use approved methods to ensure systems are in safe working condition. -Testing and commissioning of 11kV/33kV systems

What You Bring

-A valid Class 1 NZ driver’s licence (Class 2 an advantage) -Solid background in HV switching, transformer testing, and cable fault repair -Extensive hands-on experience with HV/LV cable installations, substation maintenance, and switchgear servicing -Current EWRB Practicing Licence -New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Level 4) or equivalent -A strong understanding of health and safety procedures, switching protocols, and electrical standards
