  • Witnessing the Trial Mix Design and Compaction tests, Witnessing all materials tests involved in Concrete namely aggregate, sand, cement and Reinforcement Steel including other associated additives and compounds and providing necessary approvals at site.
  • Scrutinizing and approving method statement for each activity and assuring that the work will proceed as per method statement only. Coordinate with main and subcontractors to ensure that civil construction is in accord with contractual terms & conditions with necessary quality parameters in site activity
  • Certifying main contractor Billing, Conducting Technical /Monthly Progress Review meetings with main contractor.
  • Supervise the civil construction works of 132kV &33kV substations, projects during execution stage, in line with the approved drawings and materials.
  • Attend progress meetings with contractors and consultants when required to support his superior/team leader.
  • Responsible for quality control of all materials involved and constructions activity and leverage the progress of work by careful monitoring the work progress and highlighting the bottleneck delays with clients with safety implementations of work.
  • Prepare daily site reports to ensure close monitoring of contractors civil progress activities.
  • Follow and adhere to the OH&S Management System Manual as per Authority safety standards.
  • Evaluate the sub-contractors/ test agencies/ suppliers are carrying out the work through physical verification, facilities, documentary evidence showing their products approvals
  • Providing approvals to method statements, work procedures and RFI.

  • Should have Power, Transmission & Distribution Industry Exposure
  • Experience in HV GIS Substation construction projects at 400 kV /132 kV voltage levels
  • Shall have adequate knowledge of international standards and HSE.
  • Shall have at least 10 years’ experience after graduation out of which at least 5 years’ experience in similar GIS Substation Projects.
  • Shall have adequate knowledge of information systems.
  • Must have experience of working within an ISO Quality environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility both as an individual and as a strong team player, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Management of the site activities, interfacing with other disciplines. Working knowledge of MS office, Report Writing and Presentation skills.
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English with good technical skills applied to producing reports and literate in use of MS Office applications.
  • Experience in different type of foundations and dewatering.
  • Experience in UAE / GCC will have added advantages.
  • Only candidates who have Dubai Electricity & Water Authority's (DEWA) substation project experience will be shortlisted.
  • Good knowledge of applicable design standards and codes is essential.
