  • Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams.
  • Conduct field audits of developer and Independent Construction Quality Assurance (ICQA) processes.
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Uphold and promote safety practices in all construction activities.
  • Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems for conformance to project requirements.
  • Observe and support the verification of materials sampling and testing (soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete).

  • Familiarity with GDOT standards and procedures.
  • High School and 2 years of (roadway) related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive company vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Associate degree or technical training in civil engineering, construction management, or related field and 5 years of (roadway construction) related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education is a plus
  • Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) inspection certifications
  • Basic proficiency of highway construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in geometry and trigonometry as applied to construction surveying and layout.
  • Certifications from technical organizations such as:
  • Must be able to work in various field conditions including heights, live traffic, water proximity, and adverse weather.
  • Prior experience on large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in using computers and office equipment for documentation and reporting.
  • Proficient communication skills - written and verbal
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications.
