Electrical Engineer III

Overview

Design and lead electrical systems for life‑science building projects, manage budgets, mentor staff.

Tasks

-Prepare calculations (power load, illumination, short circuit, voltage drop) and design documentation (one-line diagrams, plans, schedules, specifications). -Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to ensure coordinated and constructible designs. -Assist in proposal development under senior engineer guidance. -Conduct site walks and field surveys to identify non-compliant conditions. -Use BIM platforms and Microsoft Office to execute work. -Manage electrical design budgets and direct work on small to medium-sized projects. -Mentor junior engineers and designers. -Participate in professional development activities and client meetings. -Support construction activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, punch lists, and progress reports. -Design electrical systems for building projects in compliance with applicable codes and standards. -Lead quality assurance efforts and drive overall project quality. -Coordinate with construction trade partners, vendors, and manufacturers. -Create internal training presentations on electrical design topics.

What You Bring

-Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. -Strong coordination skills across disciplines and with construction partners. -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program. -Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office. -Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting. -Willingness to travel for client development, project execution, and training. -Experience in a design firm environment. -Ability to perform intermediate-level design calculations with limited supervision. -Familiarity with electrical codes and standards (NFPA, IESNA, UL, OSHA, IEEE). -Active Professional Engineer (PE) registration in good standing. -Experience in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) firm. -Basic troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and equipment. -Working knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
