The Role

Overview

Lead structural design for GBSD program, including concrete/steel, seismic, foundations.

Tasks

-Development of concrete and steel structural design and drawings, including seismic. -Perform formal calculations and drawings. -Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team. -Develop design specifications for construction and/or procurement. -Develop design configuration packages for configuration control, change management, and procurement. -Mentor other structural engineers -Review customer & vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution. -Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. -Review existing conditions and as-builts drawings. -Foundation design and drawings. -Assist with boring oversight and walkdowns of existing facilities.

What You Bring

-Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000. -Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense. -Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact. -Knowledge in use of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards. -Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as Bechtel Corporate guides and standards. -Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles. -Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). -Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience -Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs. -Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively. -Experience executing engineering and design with Revit. -Experience with use or knowledge of Revit. -US citizenship is required per contract requirement. -Experience designing seismic bracing and supports. -Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide. -Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the United States. -Possess active security clearance. -MS degree in Structural or related Engineering, from an accredited university.
