Overview
Lead welder for structural fabrication, overseeing welding ops and mentoring team.

Tasks
-Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide guidance to welding team members. -Clean and prepare weld joints and workpieces; remove slag, spatter, and excess weld material. -Maintain forklift certification and operate forklifts as needed for material handling. -Assist in positioning and clamping components using jigs or fixtures. -Promote a safe, productive, and respectful work environment focused on quality and customer satisfaction. -Initiate power supply and strike arc to generate heat for welding. -Manually guide electrode or welding gun along weld lines, maintaining proper arc length and movement speed. -Tack assemblies and ensure proper alignment before final welding. -Safely operate welding-related equipment including plasma cutters, torches, grinders, and jib cranes. -Select and prepare electrodes or consumable wire for welding operations. -Inspect welds for bead size, fusion depth, and adherence to specifications. -Set up and connect welding equipment according to specified amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse settings.

What You Bring
-Familiarity with welding equipment setup and maintenance. -Leadership experience or aptitude for mentoring others is a plus. -Proficiency in MIG or Stick welding techniques. -Ability to read and interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings. -Perform welds primarily in flat position, with growing proficiency in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. -Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. -Innovative & adaptable -One year certificate from college or technical school, or six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Respectful and team oriented -Forklift certification or willingness to obtain. -Proven experience in welding, preferably in structural or modular fabrication.
