Tasks
-Engage suppliers and contractors to ensure alignment with HSBC’s emission reduction and reporting requirements. -Lead routine inspections, leak detection tests, and maintenance procedures to identify and quantify fugitive emissions, applying rigorous quality control to verify data integrity and completeness. -Collaborate with facility managers, site leaders, and technical teams to comprehensively document and routinely review all emission sources across HSBC’s property portfolio. -Maintain robust audit trails and supporting documentation for regulatory compliance and stakeholder transparency. -Communicate programme objectives, milestones, challenges, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders through established reporting channels. -Integrate fugitive emission data into business intelligence dashboards and analytics for ongoing monitoring and review. -Collect, consolidate, and validate fugitive emission data for sustainability, regulatory, and ESG disclosures (including GHG inventories). -Train facility managers, technical teams, and contractors in best practices for emission prevention, leak repair, and regulatory compliance. -Support operational teams in assessing impact and developing practical, compliant solutions for client review and approval to maintain ongoing regulatory alignment. -Continuously monitor, forecast, and interpret legislative and regulatory changes affecting fugitive gas and emissions reporting, ensuring proactive adaptation of HSBC’s programme. -Produce regular (monthly, quarterly, annual) transparent reports at the property, territory, and account levels identifying emission sources, quantities, and trends. -Map and inventory all equipment and systems with potential for fugitive emissions (e.g., HVAC systems, refrigeration units), ensuring complete and up-to-date asset registers with relevant emission-related fields. -Lead engagement with key stakeholders (including HSBC Corporate Sustainability, site leaders, and technical teams) to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals, roles, and responsibilities. -Establish governance structures for oversight, escalation, and continuous review of fugitive emission management performance and progress. -Ensure all programme activities and reporting meet or exceed applicable regulatory and client standards across all territories. -Regularly review and update procedures to incorporate advances in technology, lessons learned, new regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. -Develop and implement targeted reduction initiatives, such as preventive maintenance, rapid leak detection and response, and adoption of low-emission technologies. -Develop and implement systematic processes for regularly gathering data on refrigerant use, leak events, maintenance activities, and emissions metrics. -Set annual reduction targets and benchmark performance against internal and external standards, directly supporting HSBC’s Net Zero and ESG objectives. -Calculate and benchmark total fugitive emissions and leak rates against industry standards to support strategic decision-making.

What You Bring
-Minimum 8 years’ experience in global programme management, environmental/engineering project delivery, or operational excellence, ideally within sectors focused on GHG/fugitive emission management. -Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, ensure data integrity, and communicate findings to diverse audiences. -Strong stakeholder engagement, governance establishment, and change management skills. -Willingness to travel internationally as required (approx. 20-30%) -Proven expertise in emissions tracking and mitigation, regulatory compliance, asset management, and capital/operational planning. -In-depth knowledge of refrigerants/f-gases, fugitive emission sources, relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., EPA, EU F-Gas), and ESG reporting mechanisms. -Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical, legislative, and operational changes into actionable business solutions. -Strong project management, organizational, and leadership skills. -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Programme Management, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
