  • Identify project controls improvement opportunities and contribute to the project risk management processes
  • Ensure accurate Earned Value Management system reporting
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project controls processes and systems while identifying and mitigating potential risks to the project
  • Establish and maintain the project baseline schedule
  • Collaborate closely with project management, land acquisition and permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, and other stakeholders
  • Prepare project reports, including status updates, dashboards, and executive summaries
  • Direct schedule management involving critical path method scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management, forecasting, and document control
  • Ensure accurate cost management, including detailed cost estimates and forecasts
  • Ensure accurate and timely communication of project performance to stakeholders
  • Lead and mentor a team of project controls professionals, including cost controllers and schedulers
  • Implement cost control processes to monitor expenditures, commitments, and cash flow
  • Collaborate on risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities
  • Prepare cost variance analyses and recommend actions to mitigate overruns
  • Analyze schedule impacts and provide forecasts and recovery plans as necessary
  • Monitor project progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions with the project team
  • Ensure that project controls processes support the achievement of quality objectives
  • Work closely with the Quality Manager to integrate quality metrics into project controls
  • Implement industry best practices in project controls and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of management reporting systems

  • Experience in the utilities industry, particularly in electric utilities or high-voltage transmission projects, is a plus but not required
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in infrastructure projects
  • At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Expert knowledge of project controls methodologies, including earned value management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Familiarity with risk management processes and tools
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project controls for large capital infrastructure projects
  • Expert proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6
  • Master's degree is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), or Earned Value Professional (EVP) are preferred
