Construction Engineer overseeing rail infrastructure projects for NYC transit agencies.

Tasks

-Coordinating and working with inspectors for field reviews, data collection and analysis, studies and forecasting. -Assist in change orders negotiations with contractors. -Prepare project data for schedules, assist in preparing schedules and budgets in order to monitor progress reports. -Conduct in-depth research to develop recommendations for approaches, concepts, materials and equipment selection. -Assure that drawings, calculations and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards and strengths, follow Quality Assurance and Control procedures. -Verify construction documents to field conditions. -Review contractor invoicing to verify quantities and enter contractor invoices into Client’s online system. -Collect and manage data for engineering or construction work such as to perform quantity take-offs for development of engineering estimate.

What You Bring

-Previous infrastructure construction experience with NYCT or similar rail agency required. -EIT Certification preferred. -Experience coordinating with multiple contractors and trades at one time in the field. -Ability to read and interpret construction drawings. -Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence. -2+ years of construction (office) engineer experience is required. -Requires knowledge of engineering principals and industry standards. -Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges. -Knowledge of meeting construction schedules and budgets. -BS in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
