Tasks
To lead the commercial and contractual dimension at the Council -Develop innovative delivery solutions to meet a 24/7 operational maintenance business. -To review current ordering processes in line with Quality Management systems -Track and manage budget versus actual spend, ensuring contract compliance on prices/effective monthly review of invoices -Builds and maintains relationships with internal and external customers. -Manage variations, contract change control, price increases and risks associated with public contract regulations 2015 -Benchmark cost structures and performance against regional/local data. -Undertake analysis of Electronic Van Stock usage and align to on contract spend -Lead on the assessment and appraisal of new and existing suppliers -Ensure all products purchased meet operational requirements and specifications. -Proactively manage supplier relationships, providing ancillary support to the operational delivery teams. -Responsible for all post-contract Supplier Relationship Management activities. -Support the material and contractors costs to ensure spend is kept within budget -Oversee budget planning, cost forecasting, and financial reporting for housing and maintenance teams.

What You Bring
-Excellent report writing and language skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders both externally and internally -Understands and anticipates the needs of customers. -Experience managing various forms of contract -Proven commercial management within social housing or building maintenance. -Strong understanding of and responsibility for governance and risk management of supply contracts. -Substantial experience of managing supply chain on scale and proven track record of delivering value for money savings and service improvements. -Applicants should ideally be MCIPS Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply -Highly numerate and articulate with strong financial acumen -Proficient level of IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams -Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
