Overview

Design and develop integrated CCTV and access control security systems.

Tasks

-Prepare technical reports, specifications, and submittals for clients and internal stakeholders. -Support system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed. -Create, review, and maintain detailed design drawings, schematics, riser diagrams, and layouts using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. -Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including architects, IT, and electrical engineers to integrate security systems seamlessly into broader facility designs. -Conduct field site visits and assessments to verify design feasibility, support installation planning, and perform field validations. -Remain up to date with current technologies and standards in physical security system design. -Design and develop comprehensive security systems, including intrusion detection, video surveillance, access control, and supporting infrastructure. -Plan CCTV camera layouts with precise field-of-view analysis, coverage validation, and blind-spot minimization.

What You Bring

-Familiarity and experience with industry standards such as UL, NFPA, NIST, and DoD UFC where applicable. -Experience in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation drafting tools. -6 years of experience in the design and integration of electronic security systems, with emphasis on CCTV and IDS or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. -Certifications such as PSP (ASIS), NICET Level II/III, BICSI, or manufacturer-specific design credentials. -Experience in infrastructure, transit, government, or high-security facility projects. -Experience and understanding of security systems' software and associated architecture as it pertains to video analytics and security monitors and control software platforms. -Experience in designing camera layouts and performing field-of-view planning with an understanding of resolution, lensing, lighting, and mounting constraints. -Experience and proficiency with knowledge of architectural, civil, and electrical plans to coordinate security system integration. -Experience in written and presentation communication skills, including technical documentation and presentations. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and presentations. -Proficiency and understanding of networking basics and IP-based video systems -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Security Engineering, or a related discipline -Valid Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, the selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review -Knowledge of Revit, Bluebeam, or BIM coordination tools.
