Urban Designer

Overview

Design and develop large-scale masterplans and urban schemes for mixed-use communities in Dubai.

Tasks

-Produce visualizations: sketches, 3D models, renderings, diagrams, presentation boards -Assist in developing land use strategies, zoning, public realm layouts, streetscapes, open space networks -Assist in prepare master plans and urban design schemes from concept through to detailed design phases -Understand and apply UAE/Dubai planning regulations, codes, sustainability standards -Conduct site analyses: topography, infrastructure, existing built fabric, context, climate, views, accessibility, etc. -Manage parts of project delivery: scheduling, quality control, documentation -Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, code compliance documentation -Coordinate with architecture, landscape, infrastructure, transport, environment and other consultants -Stay current with design trends, sustainable design practices, materials, and technology -Participate in client presentations, workshops, design charrettes

What You Bring

-Ability to work independently and also within a multidisciplinary, multicultural team -Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture or related field; Master’s degree is a plus -Should have at least 3 years of experience as an Urban Designer -Good knowledge of local (Dubai/UAE) planning policies, regulations, and approvals process -Proficient in relevant design and visualization software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS; knowledge of Revit or BIM an advantage
