The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Integrate field data, survey inputs, and utility information into comprehensive design deliverables. -Coordinate with project team for forecasting, scheduling, resources management, and quality assurance. -Work a schedule that parallels the hours of the work schedule of our customer -Follow very specific and detailed procedures already implemented while remaining flexible enough to readily adapt to changing standards and procedures without notice. -Follow-up with our customer and provide a status of any and all assigned work -Prepare and deliver as-built and redline updates post-construction. -Support permitting and regulatory documentation through accurate GIS and CAD outputs. -Utilize QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar geospatial platforms to create, analyze, and manage network designs and datasets. -Review project deliverables for accuracy and apprise project management team of risks, issues, and recommended mitigations. -Review and interpret real estate documents, including land deeds, utility easements, and related property records, to ensure clear title and compliance with regulations. -Design and document fiber architectures including FTTH (GPON/XGS-PON), backbone, lateral, and enterprise builds. -Develop and produce detailed OSP fiber design packages including route maps, splicing documentation, and construction drawings. -Ensures the integrity of the customer access network is maintained and provides support for the deployment of access technologies. -Collaborate with any necessary vendor, as well as internal GIS and CAD teams to produce all required documentation for application packages. -Evaluate alternative design solutions to optimize cost, scalability, and reliability.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in QGIS (required); experience with ArcGIS, AutoCAD, or MicroStation is a plus. -Must pass a drug test -Proven ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels: from team members to executive management. -Qualify on pre-employment screening -Proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Google Sheets and Google Drive. -Proven ability to read, interpret, and produce engineering drawings, splice diagrams, and construction prints. -Strong language skills are required, both oral & written -Local candidates only for a hybrid work schedule requiring reporting to the Hoover office 3 days a week -Sound OSP engineering experience deploying fiber optic and Copper networks - Knowledge of engineering principles within OSP job related functional area including general practices, procedures and industry standards. -Familiar with legal requirements as defined by the municipal, state and federal laws and regulations -Obtain satisfactory results from a background/employment history investigation and drug screening -Knowledge of fiber optic and copper counts, fiber assignments, and splicing schematics in all OSP environments. -Minimum 3 years of experience as a telecommunications OSP designer -Possess STRONG communication & PEOPLE skills -Strong knowledge of fiber optic network topologies and deployment architectures (PON, point-to-point, ring, mesh).
