Tasks
-Responsible for collection and distribution of all bid documents. -Manage the day-to-day operations of assigned projects so that they are completed on time and on budget. -Prepare reports as needed and distribute them to necessary personnel. -Work with clients to brainstorm creative solutions to their problems and to ensure their needs are met through our customized solutions -Attend pre-bid or team meetings and understand the complete scope of work required. -Work with VP of Sprinkler Operations to develop estimating spreadsheets and instruct Project Managers in the use of the spreadsheets as needed. -Prepare project estimates by studying blueprints, specifications, scope of work, schedule, and any other materials requested by the customer, taking into account possible unforeseen events and inclement weather. -Building positive working relationships with multiple levels of employees and management is required. -Obtain quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. -Complying with all operating policies, procedures, executed Plans, and Programs is required. -Ensure smooth and timely project turnover from Estimating to Project Management. -Accurately define project requirements. -Resolve cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. -Assist field operations with an estimate after bid award. -Provide liaison support to CEO/President, VP of Sprinkler Operations, Project Managers, and external client interface support. -Assist in determining resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints in alignment with company goals and objectives. -Complete the estimate take-off, within time deadlines in a fast-paced environment. -Respond to inquiries from the senior management team in a timely manner. -Read and analyze job cost reports taking appropriate action as needed. -Ensure all cost estimates submitted are as accurate as possible.

LANGUAGE SKILLS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to customer and company locations by land and air. -Strong knowledge of blueprint interpretation is required. -Excellent organizational skills are required. -Strong math skills are required. -Knowledge of NFPA 13, 13R, 14, and 96 is required. -Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced multi-task environment is required. -High School Diploma or GED is required. -Ability to follow-up on tasks and assignments in a timely manner is required. -Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required. -Ability to work effectively in a team environment is required. -Strong time management and detail orientation skills are required. -Ability to think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results is required. -Significant experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel) applications is required. -Ability to perform basic business mathematical functions is required. -5+ years’ experience estimating in fire suppression, mechanical or commercial construction is required. -Ability to work with minimal supervision is required. -A degree from an accredited college or university is a plus.
