Tasks

-Develop internal processes, policies, and tools to support insurance-backed litigation and regulatory matters efficiently and at scale. -Monitor new legislation and regulations that could impact our operations and advise the business on potential impacts. -Manage all phases of litigation, including commercial disputes, auto liability claims, cutting-edge patent litigation and other matters. This includes developing case strategy, overseeing discovery, drafting motions and pleadings, and managing outside counsel. -Conduct thorough and efficient legal research and analysis on novel questions of law arising from our innovative business models. -Support the Legal team in a variety of other areas, including responding to third-party subpoenas and requests for information. -Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to our Operations, Partnerships, and Product teams on a wide range of regulatory and compliance issues at the local, state, and federal levels. -Represent the company in pre-litigation mediations and arbitrations to achieve favorable resolutions.

What You Bring

-Experience with employment, labor relations, insurance defense, securities regulation and compliance, or complex commercial litigation preferred but not required. -You have a J.D. from a top-tier, accredited law school and are admitted to the bar and in good standing in at least one U.S. state (New York preferred). -A proven ability to think strategically, solve problems, and exercise sound legal and business judgment. -Direct experience in the transportation, mobility, or technology sectors. -Impeccable written and oral communication skills; you can distill complex legal concepts into clear, concise advice for a non-legal audience. -Prior in-house experience at a high-growth technology company. -4+ years minimum of relevant legal experience, including significant litigation work at a leading law firm, in a sophisticated in-house legal department, or with a government agency. -Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to independently manage multiple high-stakes projects in a fast-paced environment.
