The Role

Tasks

-Collaborate with Operations Managers to acquire estimates for durations, crew sizes, and equipment requirements. -Prepare bid/no bid recommendations for management's final review and decision-making. -Transitioning Successful Bids to Active Job Status -Sign up and attend on-site visits. -Lead all contract negotiations and the identification and negotiation of change orders. -Lead all finances and schedule meetings throughout the duration of projects within the scope of supervision. -Coordinate self-performed and subcontracted work activities with onsite Superintendent. -Develop, prepare and manage all submittals and required project documentation. -Conduct internal financial and progress reviews of budget and schedule. -Stay engaged with client relations and development. -Determine suitable means and methods for project execution. -Review plans and specifications to complete comprehensive quantity take-offs. -Negotiate and finalize subcontracts as necessary for all projects under consideration as assigned. -Facilitate the transition of estimates into project budgets. -Prepare and update project schedules. -Maintain live tracking, forecasting, and reporting of job costs. -Code and track receipts for daily job expenses. -Perform weekly safety audits. -Perform work in office and in field settings. -Provide oversight of purchases and approvals. -Lead the submittal process and the documentation reporting required by the owner, various authorities, including but not limited to USCG, DOE, EPA, and other relevant state and local agencies. -Prepare, manage, and engage in bid reviews as an active participant. -Develop the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule. -Review all contracts as assigned. -Collaborate with the legal team to navigate the contracting process. -Identify and communicate project-specific risks effectively. -Manage the critical path schedule CPM daily. -Responsible for identifying opportunities on bid sites and via relationship leads. -Spearhead site health and safety on projects with the support of the safety team. -Oversee the procurement and acquisition of materials, ensuring quality control of deliverables to projects. -Identify associated costs, such as labor, materials, subcontractors, and equipment. -Generate bi-monthly cost-to-complete reports (every two weeks). -Develop and implement process improvements to maintain a competitive edge in the market. -Oversee the company’s site personnel.

What You Bring

-Ability to engage in all stages of the estimating and bidding process. -Experience with estimating software. -Working knowledge of standard construction practices and regulations/laws. -Flexibility to work any day of the week, both night and day. (as needed) -Willingness to travel to project sites and work approximately 60 days at a time. -Experience in construction estimating and bidding. -Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record. -Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite. -Experience with OCS P6 / Primavera P6 -Endurance for standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, squatting, crouching, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, repetitive reaching, and repetitive hand use for up to 12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet, and Snow). -2-15 years in remote construction projects (required) -4-year degree (preferred) -Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and a background check. -5-15 years in Marine Construction. (required) -Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70lbs occasionally up to 12 times per shift. -Travel up to 60% domestically -Proficient in verbal, written, and electronic communications. -Experience with HCSS. -Experience in computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting. (preferred) -High school diploma or equivalent. (required) -5-15 years total experience in management of construction projects. -Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, clients, and government officials. -5-15 years of estimating Small Heavy Civil Construction Projects. (preferred)
