The Role

Overview

Installs, inspects, and tests electrical power distribution equipment for customers.

Tasks

-Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data on electrical systems. -Conduct low and medium-voltage motor control center and contractor testing. -Rotate emergency on-call duty. -Supervise Trainees, Assistants, and Technicians in the completion of electrical testing duties. -Assist in the sales process acting as the technical expert in electrical testing and maintenance of electrical equipment -Test and calibrate solid-state and electromechanical relays. -Document test results and complete field reports. -Test and commission protection and control systems on high voltage substations. -Review and submit timecards, expense, and project reports. -Maintain strict compliance with regulatory laws -Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches. -Complete Job Hazard Analyses including but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses -Sample and interpret insulated fluids. -Maintain, test, and repair transformers and related equipment. -Track project scope completion and communicate ABM and Customer Management -Perform relay calibration and power metering. -Test and inspect low, medium, and high-voltage cable installations. -Observe testing, assign work on projects to capable technicians, ensure testing of similar items is consistent across test technicians -Guide, mentor, train, and supervise Level 1 and 2 certified NETA Trainees and Assistant Technicians. -Start-up, troubleshoot, and repair generator controls and transfer schemes. -Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replace low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.

What You Bring

-Must have a minimum of 4 years experience in electrical testing. -Familiar with NFPA70E Electrical Safety standards -Ability to troubleshoot electrical performance deficiencies -The candidate should have experience working with a team. -Hold a current NETA Level 3, 4 or NICET equivalent, or equivalent experience -Knowledgeable in lockout/tag-out and hazardous energy control procedures. -Clean Driving Record and Drug-Free -Experience in working on projects -Familiar with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Standards -Ability to travel regionally 50%
