The Role

Overview

Oversee maintenance team, schedule repairs and preventative maintenance for the facility.

Tasks

-Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department. -Tracks all maintenance activities through a maintenance management program. -Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy. -Hires and trains maintenance department staff. -Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects. -Ensures that there is 24/7 maintenance coverage of operations within the facility. -Develops maintenance procedures and schedules as necessary. -Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff. -Assesses production equipment to plan work assignments and project schedules. -Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. -Evaluates production equipment or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed. -Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner. -Develops and maintains critical spare parts list and inventory levels of those parts to avoid unscheduled downtime. -Helps to develop, coach and train staff. -Develops and maintains preventative maintenance schedule in collaboration with operation staff.

What You Bring

-High school diploma required associates in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred. -Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. -Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose production and building issues and plan repairs or maintenance including climbing stairs, ladders, and catwalks. -Extensive knowledge of large manufacturing equipment. -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Knowledge and understanding of PLC’s and large Hp AC and DC drives and motors is a plus. -At least five years managing employees required. -Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed. -Ability to read and understand mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics. -Excellent management and supervisory skills. -Ability to plan maintenance schedules for production systems. -Ability to work in a hot or cold environment as deemed necessary. -8-10 years of maintenance work experience required. -Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. -Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed. -Must be able to lift 45 pounds at a time. -Wire & Cable experience a plus. -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
