The Role

Overview

Monitor asbestos abatement projects, ensure compliance, perform sampling and documentation

Tasks

-On-site for the duration of the project at all times the abatement contractor is present to assure compliance with Federal, State and Local statutes governing abatement procedures. -Communicate with designated project managers during and after shift. -Perform air sampling and inspections to monitor compliance with specified procedures within the work area. -Complete detailed documentation including chains of custody and log book entry.

Who We’re Looking For: A motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts well to change. You should possess excellent organizational skills and a strong commitment to customer service and safety. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, learn quickly, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. -Mastery of the English language – written and spoken. -Must be able to walk up/down multiple flights of stairs. -Additional certifications such as 10/30 Hour Construction Safety are desirable but not required. -Reliable transportation. -Asbestos: NYS DOL Asbestos Project Monitor Certification -Excellent communication and record-keeping -Ability to occasionally work in confined spaces (examples: crawlspaces, attics). -Valid driver’s license. -Eager and available to work flexible and extra hours as necessary. -Must be well versed in NYC DEP Title 15 Regulations -1 to 3 years in the industry -Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -Available to work during off-hour shifts on an emergency, as-needed basis. -Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. -Ability to occasionally work at heights greater than 6 feet (examples: ladders, rooftops, man-lifts, scaffolding). -Ability to complete all mandatory trainings, including safety training.
