Developing field work plans/program for the borehole, coring, test pitting investigation
Carrying out project execution, proposal, and pavement design report / geotechnical investigation report preparation, with oversight and support by a senior pavement / geotechnical engineer
Executing projects to further gain experience in project management, preparing invoices and monitoring budget of projects throughout the duration of the projects
Conducting pavement data processing and analysis and pavement designs for new construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation, widening, and resurfacing using state-of-the-art strategies
Carrying out pavement/geotechnical investigation including borehole and core logging, sampling of asphalt, concrete and subgrade soils, if required
Conducting geotechnical engineering assessments and analyses for a range of project types including shallow foundations for buildings, retaining walls, culverts, and storm sewers
Conducting pavement condition surveys on flexible, rigid, surface treated and gravel pavements.

Ability and willingness to be mobile and travel for work as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access)
Experience in providing pavement designs to the MTO and Municipalities considered a strong asset.
Professional Engineer License is an asset.
Project management experience and technical expertise with pavement analysis/engineering/design projects, using Municipal standards, MTO, and AASHTO methods.
Familiar with pavement related MTO’s OPSS, OPSD, SPs and Municipal standards
Experience with AASHTO 1993 and MEPDG methods for designing flexible and rigid pavements.
Bachelor’s degree in Pavement Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or Material Engineering
Valid G Class Ontario Driver’s License
A high level of proficiency with current pavement/geotechnical design software applications
Practical knowledge of statistics, numerical modeling and computational methods for data analysis and quality management is required.
Minimum 3 years of experience in the Pavement/Geotechnical Engineering field, with at least 2 of those years in the consulting industry in Ontario is preferred.
Experience with, and an interest in pavement evaluation, investigation, design, and asset management
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals, present information, and ideas, and respond to questions in a clear and concise manner is required.
