Overview
Diagnose, repair, overhaul and maintain heavy equipment diesel systems.

Tasks
-Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts -Determines reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelines -Tests measures, and adjusts engine and machine systems and components -Maintains a clean and organized work area -Correctly charges work to appropriate work order segments -Performs maintenance activities on new and rebuilt/repaired equipment -Analyzes customer repair and maintenance requirements -Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems -Prepares accurate and complete service reports and turns them in on time -Cleans, repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and component -Makes parts replacement decisions assuring optimum economic reusability -Prepares, inspects, and operates machines prior to delivery -Communicates effectively with Service Writer, Shop Coordinators and Shop Managers to ensure problems, nature of repair, and status of repairs are understood and followed up on -Uses safe working practices and follows all company safety requirements -Services and maintains equipment sold and/or owned by the company -Makes recommendations as to repairs meeting warranty criteria -Prepares inspection and appraisal reports -Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts orders are correct and complete at the time of order

What You Bring
-High School Diploma or GED -Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills -3 years’ experience in heavy equipment, engine, or electric power generation system repair -Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair preferred -Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, etc. -Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing -Heavy work that includes carrying, lifting and/or moving objects up to 100 pounds or more -1+ years customer service experience -1+ years administrative/clerical experience -Basic ability to search for and enter data into a computer -Safety & Product Knowledge -Diagnoses and troubleshoots machine and engine malfunctions and failures -Ability to type service reports
