-Transport and set up instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing job site for survey -Helps with various pieces of survey equipment -Lays out stakes to prepare for elevation measurements -Measures how far different points are from each other Horizontally -Holding prism pole steady for the surveyor to help determine elevations of different points
