The Role
Overview
Provide minor repairs, maintenance, and safety checks in housing for vulnerable residents.

Tasks
-Joinery tasks (e.g. fitting shelves, curtain rails, or grab rails). -Represent the organisation professionally, providing a friendly and respectful service to all customers. -General upkeep such as clearing gutters, adjusting doors, or re-fixing loose fittings. -Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition, reporting any defects. -Carry out property health and safety checks (e.g. visual checks of communal areas, reporting hazards). -Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times, reporting any concerns immediately. -Work across multiple care and support schemes, travelling between sites as required. -Deliver a wide range of handyperson and minor maintenance tasks across supported housing schemes and individual tenancies, including but not limited to: -Decorating touch-ups and small painting jobs. -Respond promptly to repair and maintenance requests, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. -Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and time spent . -Fitting safety equipment such as door chains, or window restrictors.

What You Bring
-Basic health and safety training (e.g. Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness). -The post holder may be required to work flexibly to meet service needs -Previous experience in supported housing, care, or social housing environments. -Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. -Full UK driving licence. -Awareness of safeguarding and confidentiality procedures. -Proven experience in a general maintenance or handyperson role. -Basic plumbing repairs (e.g. fixing leaks, replacing taps or washers). -DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check – Enhanced level required. -Strong practical skills across a range of trades (basic joinery, plumbing, decorating, etc.). -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Understanding of working within environments that house vulnerable individuals. -Demonstrate understanding and empathy when working with vulnerable adults, including those with physical disabilities, learning difficulties, mental health needs, or older persons.
