Respond to information requests from site and complete project documentation including as-builts, calculations and return of data to the client.
Engineer transmission line projects from ‘definition phase’ through the ‘implementation phase’.
Provide construction support and overall project engineering coordination during installation and commissioning with the client and subcontractors.
Proactively monitor project engineering schedule and manage budgets for assigned projects.
Provide technical advice and guidance to design engineers.
Maintain and enhance relationships with internal groups and external contractors and clients.
Support the management in planning, business development, proposal, performance evaluations and appraisals.
Support engineering projects by performing electrical studies that include EMF, Audible Noise, Radio Interference, Grounding, Step & Touch Potentials, AC Interference of pipelines and railways, Conductor Ampacity, Corona, Line Impedance Parameters, Fault calculations, using CDEGS and MATHCAD.
Support engineering projects by creating detailed scopes and estimates, performing engineering calculations, developing detailed plan and profile design drawings, modeling using the highly specialized, custom-purpose software: PLS-CADD.
Undertake in-depth analysis/studies of problems and identifying solutions and prepare reports to support studies/recommendations.
Provide procurement support to prepare material specifications, requisitions, scope documents, material take-off and technical evaluation of bids.
Develop and implement specifications, standards, templates, and engineering tools.
Design structures for high voltage transmission lines using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Prepare staged design review packages in accordance with client’s standards and maintaining detailed documentation of designs and calculations.
Travel and visit project sites during project definition and execution.

Construction support experience for Transmission projects.
5 plus years of transmission line engineering experience is required.
Proven experience within a Transmission Utility or EPC organization designing transmission lines utilizing PLS–CADD/PLS-POLE is required.
Knowledge of electrical aspects of power transmission system. Prior experience with CDEGS, academic background on EMF and AC Interference are an asset.
Knowledge of transmission line materials (structures, conductors/OHSW, OPGW/ADSS, insulators, hardware accessories and fittings).
Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized university along with a Professional Engineering Designation (US or Canada) or eligibility for registration with EGBC.
Direct experience on the safety aspects of the design of high voltage transmission lines.
