The Role

Overview

Design and produce civil engineering drawings for power substations

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-To actively develop working methods to improve the quality and quantity of the output. -Liaise as necessary with the designer and operations personnel to determine the most suitable and practical interpretation of design requirements. -To assist in the training of junior members of staff and direct contract/agency personnel & technicians with their duties. -Produce Drawings and Material Schedules with particular emphasis on substation designs to the required standard first time and within time scales set. -Drive a Safety by Design approach at all times. -Ensure that Procedures and Manuals provided for compliance with the appropriate Quality Assurance Standards are applied. -To proactively contribute to teamwork and cross-functional working. To listen to each other and share knowledge enabling us to willingly combine expertise across the business and with our clients and supply chain. -Assist in the checking of Documents produced by other members of the team. -To operate in an open and even handed manner with all personnel across the business. Treat all who we interact with, with courtesy and respect, treating everyone equally and embracing differences. Encourage everyone to achieve maximum potential. -To assist in the production of reports and inquiry documentation. -To comply with project and function specific standards and practices. -Work closely with other elements of the design team to ensure effective collaboration on multi-disciplinary projects. -Produce accurate and complete records -To assist in the estimation of timescales for a specific task. -Produce accurate packages with minimum of rework

What You Bring

-AutoCAD experience -Proven experience of the drawing of civil engineering works -Microdrainage software experience -Proven experience with Revit 3D -IT Literate (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel) -Good understanding of BIM principals (PAS1192 and ISO16950) -Civils 3D software experience
