Overview

Monitor and manage facility systems, network performance, incidents, and documentation in a 24/7 NOC.

Tasks

-Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation for BMS systems, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Document network changes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference. -This includes monitoring network performance, analyzing logs, and responding to alerts and incidents. -Incident Management: Handle and manage network incidents, including recording incidents, escalating as needed, and ensuring timely resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineering team, system administrators, and vendors, to resolve complex issues. -Perform alarm analysis and propose suggestion to reduce the alarms to the engineering team. -Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including network diagrams, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and incident reports. -Ensure uptime and availability of all facility-related services. -Shift Handover: Ensure smooth transitions between shifts by providing thorough updates and documentation to the next shift or manager. -Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with emerging network technologies, industry best practices, and advancements in network monitoring tools. Continuously enhance technical skills through self-learning, training, and certifications. -Monitor and manage critical facility systems such as power (including generators), cooling (HVAC), and fire suppression. -Change Management: Participate in change management processes, ensuring that changes are properly planned, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption to data centre services. -Conduct “eyes on glass” for the facility equipment alarms. -Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and help desk personnel, to address network-related issues. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely updates on network incidents and resolutions.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in troubleshooting network issues and conducting root cause analysis. -Experience with network monitoring tools and technologies eg. ITIL. -Understanding of network security principles and practices. -A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline is often required. -Experience: Relevant experience in a NOC or data centre environment is beneficial, with a minimum of 3 years being common for some roles. -Familiarity with network hardware, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
