Estimate and manage MEP costs during preconstruction for commercial projects.

Tasks

-Provide direction for understanding MEP project scope, market pricing, and available resources -Review and provide feedback on project estimates created by the project managers. -Perform quantity take-offs of all MEP systems. -Create project estimates individually and with a team. -Work with project managers to develop conceptual and detailed estimates at varying stages of design for the MEP scopes of work. -Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bid proposals. -Train Cost Engineers and Project Management staff. -Scope and select subcontractors based on best value and project requirements. -Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets of types. Capable of cost modeling using Uniformat II system costs -Support the development, architectural, and construction team with preconstruction expertise including value design, costs, project schedule, procurement, and project pursuits. -Record final estimates and maintain cost history.

What You Bring

-Able to listen, prioritize, and value the opinions of others. -Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures. -Knowledge of construction means and methods and able to read and understand project plans. -Have Mission Critical Data Center project experience. -Knowledgeable in Microsoft Excel. -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architectural or Construction Management or experience in relevant field. -Positions require verification of employment eligibility to work in the U.S. -Knowledge of construction means and methods, building types, and procurement methods. -Have working knowledge of DESTINI Estimator, OST, Bluebeam, VICO, Navisworks, and Revit. -Knowledge of design-build, CM at Risk, and best-value processes. -Be able to perform thoughtful and accurate quantity take offs, and summarize data in a meaningful way. -6+ years commercial construction experience. -Able to teach skills and knowledge to others.
