Tasks

-Coordinate with other engineering and architectural disciplines to facilitate projects as prime consultant. This includes assisting the client in developing construction strategies for repair/upgrade work -Work closely with Project Engineers within the project team environment, through the life cycle of a project from conceptual and preliminary stages of the design through to completion. -Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis, including basic project costing -Structural analysis of existing building structure for revised loading conditions, and seismic upgrade situations. -Lead With Purpose - empower, develop and support others to reach their full potential -Structural engineering of existing building components including architectural features, building equipment, and building enclosure components. -Contract administration/construction review of the work you design -Engage in site investigation, evaluation of existing buildings, preparation of reports and studies -Supportive Teamwork - promote an inclusive and respectful work environment and culture -Follow quality control procedures established by the practice

-Creative Mindset - provide new and diverse ideas -Strong time management skills to successfully balance working on multiple projects simultaneously -Demonstrated and effective communication skills – both written and verbal -Registered or eligible as P.Eng with EGBC -Team player with ability to work as part of a group or independently -Experience in a consulting firm environment -Inquisitive, clear thinker who can determine what work is required and who can draw rational conclusions from information available -Valid Canadian Driver’s License -Degree in civil engineering from accredited university with courses that include structural engineering design and analysis -5+ years previous experience in structural engineering or construction
