Electrical Engineer - Power Generation

Overview

Design and lead utility‑scale power generation projects, emphasizing renewables and BESS.

Tasks

-Conduct work sessions and project meetings, and/or participate in reviews at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines, and provide construction contract administration as needed -Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, requests for information (RFIs), change orders (COs), job safety analysis (JSAs) and take responsibility to incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documents -Develop project schematic design and contract document phase of a project including reviewing project documents, writing project specification and coordinating areas of conflict with other disciplines -Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Engineers, Project Coordinators or Designers

What You Bring

-Willingness to grow into a team lead or section manager role -Protection and control design experience including setting calculations and electronic files development -Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software. (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit) -Previous experience with an engineering power consulting firm desired -Professional Engineer (PE) license -Field experience, including startup and commissioning, experience is desired -Experience in renewable energy (PV, BESS, etc.) and DER or “microgrid” projects is highly desired -Bachelor's degree in Engineering -Capable computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, CYMCAD, PSCAD, etc.) -Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector. -Instrumentation and Controls experience particularly with DCS and PLC systems is a plus -Knowledge and experience with three-phase electrical power, protection and control design, system grounding, physical design, and experience with other activities such as lighting and grounding design, including instrumentation and control and life safety systems
