Estimate HVAC/R controls projects, prepare take-offs, pricing, and proposals.

Tasks

-Evaluate alternative solutions and value engineering opportunities to optimize cost-effectiveness. -Coordinate with Sr. Controls Estimator on final proposals. -Utilize Bidtracer, Dynamics, Bluebeam, and any other company software. -Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of historical cost data for use in future estimating projects. -Qualify and prospect controls opportunities and their associated plans and specifications. -Conduct thorough site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimating as needed. -Present estimates and proposals to customers in a clear and professional manner. -Collaborate with other departments, such as sales, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment of estimating activities with overall business objectives. -Create and maintain any opportunities in the CRM as directed by the Sr. Controls Estimator. -Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the estimating function. -Provide timely and accurate responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid invitations. -Constantly analyzes for ways to improve individual and/or company performance. -Review vendor equipment submittals and specifications to minimize discrepancies and ensure alignment with project scope. -Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. -Responsible for assigned estimates. -Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to controls estimating. -Assist with customer meetings as required. -In the performance of duties and responsibilities, you are expected to observe all safety, health, and loss prevention rules, practices, and procedures, as well as specific instructions related to the safe and efficient performance of your work. -Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys for all materials, equipment, and labor required for projects. -Engage in meaningful involvement with trade/business associations focused on improving the company’s mission or business plan, which may occur outside of regular working hours. -Represents company in a positive and professional manner -Promote and participate in education and training opportunities that allow the company and its employees to meet stated goals, objectives, and business plans.

What You Bring

-Good Verbal and written communications skills. -In-depth knowledge of HVAC&R control systems and related supporting utilities. -Ability to read and understand plans & specifications. -Thinks strategically and considers long-term implications of one’s actions -Maintains positive attitude and morale -Trade specific skills – Low-Voltage, Mechanical & HVAC, Building Automation, Electrical -Strong ambition and highly motivated to succeed -Work Ethic of loyalty, integrity, pride, perseverance, accountability, respect and teamwork -A minimum of 5 years’ trade experience or degreed equivalent. -Knowledge of local and industry codes that regulate the HVAC&R industry. -Computer Skills Excel -Strong math skills -Estimating Skills -An effective and viable safety, health, and loss prevention program will be attained only when all employees are safety conscious and keenly aware, both mentally and physically, of the potential hazards of your environment. -Effective negotiator. -Strong detail orientation
