The Role
Overview
Install, maintain, and repair HVAC piping systems per codes and specs
Key Responsibilities

Tasks
-Interpret blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams to determine layout and installation procedures. -Collaborate with other trades (e.g., electricians, sheet metal workers) to ensure coordinated installation. -Test piping systems for leaks using pressure gauges and other diagnostic tools. -Adhere to safety protocols and OSHA regulations at all times. -Cut, thread, groove, weld, and braze pipes using hand and power tools. -Install and connect piping systems to HVAC equipment such as chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, and pumps. -Troubleshoot and repair piping systems as needed. -Mentor apprentices and assist in training less experienced workers. -Communicate effectively with internal team and customers. -Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

What You Bring
-Ability to use hand and power tools. -Strong problem-solving and communication skills. -Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and perform manual labor. -Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and clean criminal background. -Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in HVAC piping systems. -OSHA 30 Training. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team. -Skilled in various piping materials (e.g., copper, steel, PVC) and joining methods. -Familiarity with HVAC systems including chilled water, condenser water, steam, and hydronic heating. -High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of HVAC level operation, maintenance & repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade. -Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques, electrical circuits and wiring, operating principles of motors, and local electrical codes. -Valid Local 533 Journeyman Pipefitter license or certification -Diagnose and resolve problems, follow written and verbal instructions, read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material, and perform math. -Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications. -Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
