The Role

Overview

Collects, tests, and reports on construction materials, ensuring safety and quality.

Tasks

-Safely and efficiently work in a quality control capacity and report any problems to the supervisor in a timely fashion. -Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and / or MSHA. -Report to work at the designated start time and stay through end of shift. -Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures. -Responsible for collecting, measuring and testing of materials for construction projects including hot mix asphalt, soils sampling, aggregate sampling, core sampling, nuclear density testing, laboratory testing and mix design. -Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

What You Bring

-Desired: New England Transportation Technician Certification is desirable. -Good verbal and written communication skills. -High school diploma required. -Basic math skills. -Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. -Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors and the general public at all times. -Be able to work overtime when required. -Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check. -Desired: 1 year experience in quality control testing desired but not required. -Clean DMV record. -A.S. degree in Civil Engineering preferred. -Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required. -Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. -Pass a pre-employment “Fit for Work” physical.
