Tasks

Civil Science is looking for a Transportation Design Division Manager to join our team in Williston, Dickinson, or Fargo, North Dakota. As a Division Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of planning, designing, and delivering large-scale transportation projects. This is a senior-level leadership role where you'll provide technical oversight, mentor up-and-coming talent, and play a key part in driving the firm’s strategic growth. You’ll also work directly with clients, contribute to and direct business development, and represent the firm as an industry thought leader. -Cultivate and strengthen client relationships, identifying opportunities for future projects and services -Represent the firm at conferences, industry events, and professional organizations -Lead the planning and execution of complex, large-scale transportation design projects with technical and financial significance -Uphold and promote quality, safety, and sustainability standards in all phases of project delivery -Drive business development initiatives, including proposals, client engagement, and industry networking -Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and growth -Deliver innovative engineering solutions and provide expert guidance to internal teams and clients -Manage project budgets, schedules, and overall financial performance to ensure long-term success

What You Bring

Civil Science evaluates and determines on a case-by-case basis whether it is willing to sponsor an individual to receive a temporary or permanent work visa (e.g., E-3, H-1B, H-1B1, or TN visa status). Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass both a criminal background check and driving record review. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering -12+ years of progressive engineering experience, including leadership of large, NDDOT Projects -Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. -Proven ability to manage high-profile projects and guide high-performing teams -Experience with proposal development, strategic planning, and revenue growth -Must be able to work on active construction sites, which may include uneven terrain, exposure to varying weather conditions, and moderate to high noise levels. -Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. -Professional Engineer (PE) license required -Excellent communication, team building, and leadership skills -Project management training or equivalent a plus -Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. -Strong business acumen and client relationship management skills
