Tasks

-Update Design manager every week on progress of each permit application. Also, to advise of critical issues that can hold up permit approvals -Coordinate the use of the tracking system to track the progress of PLAA throughout the project -Ensure you and your family receive the services needed to support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. -Actively participate in external and internal project meetings, and to provide leadership to peers and other team members when dealing with PLAA issues -Document and report progress on PLAA and document submissions and updating project leads with updates -Managing the process required to obtain and maintain the Project Permits, Licenses, Approvals and Agreements associated with the Project -Prepare various senior management permitting updates as required -Coordinate with team members from different design and construction disciplines to incorporate necessary input for each permit in a timely manner. This shall include but not limited to meetings with the Designers and the Designer Builder’s Technical Department Discipline Managers -Managing and maintaining a PLAA register to give the project team an oversight on upcoming and expected permits -Managing plans and records related to Project Permits, Licenses, Approvals and Agreements, including ensuring that required documents are uploaded to registries or otherwise transmitted as required by Contracting Authority and Governmental Authorities -Coordinate with the design team on design packages for PLAAs and document submissions to different stakeholders -Track document submittals, alerting team members of risks related to reports and plans due dates required by Contracting Authority and coordinating a Non- Conformance Report with team members on extensions needed on plans and reports -Fulfilling Project responsibilities regarding the PLAA Advisory Committee -Coordinate the internal PLAA working group meetings, including minute taking and issuance of invitations -Writing monthly reports and spreadsheets pertaining to PLAA processes, progress, and updates -Managing working relationships with Governmental Authorities and Stakeholders, ensuring that external Stakeholders agencies (City of Toronto, TTC, MECP, TRCA, MTO and GO transit) are engaged when appropriate -Create and maintain permitting tracker to track comments, responses, submissions, resubmissions of all permit applications -Work with document control to keep track of project report and plan submittals

What You Bring

-Well versed in civil engineering principles, theories, applications -Capacity to identify and manage all the essential components of a PLAA tracking system -Efficiently and effectively use standard computer software. -Detailed knowledge and extensive experience acquiring permits, licenses and approval requirements for major infrastructure and transit infrastructure projects -Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation procedures, and permit requirements, including the Ontario Water Resources Act, Building Code, Planning Act (Ontario), Metrolinx Act, 2006 (Ontario), Municipal Act (Ontario), railway corridor infrastructure and related construction projects -5-7+ years of experience with permitting, licensing, approvals, and agreements -Leadership and teamwork skills -Project Management Certificate preferred -Working knowledge of plan review and approval procedures associated with major transportation infrastructure design and construction, located primarily on a public right-of-way -Excellent inter-personal and communication skills -Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) preferred, or equivalent -Acquainted with project management processes and techniques -Excellent working knowledge on computer programs such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Aconex, Primavera P6 and Bluebeam -Ability to understand and interpret requirements and responsibilities articulated within project-related agreements related to PLAA
