Tasks

-You will apply labels, stickers, stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping. -While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach at or above shoulder level; grip; and use hands to handle and feel. -Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process. Perform quality checks as instructed. -You will package, create and band equipment, parts, materials, products and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging. -You will utilize computer and perform cycle counts of components. Analyze cycle count information to determine root cause and corrective action. Resolve all errors by research and auditing of transactions. -You will support assembly and fabrication requirements for materials as needed. -While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to listen and to talk. -You will receive, document, store stage and issue all job-related material to satisfy production requirements. -You will comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals. -You will operate forklifts and cranes to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas. -You will perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.

What You Bring

-The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds. -Computer literate. -Must demonstrate a collaborative style and work effectively in a diverse environment -The vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination. -Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in teams across plant and corporate entities -Working knowledge of Lean concepts. -Computer skills to include Excel, Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics,Vista, & Outlook. -Knowledge of processes and procedures related to steel and bus fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control. -The employee is frequently required to walk; stoop; lift; carry; push; pull; and grip. -Broad range of knowledge in materials planning, scheduling, receiving, shipping, and tracking systems. -The employee is frequently required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. -Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimum supervision and capable of solving various problems as unusual circumstances arise through interfacing with other departments -Must be able to multi-task and balance various demands while achieving goals -Ability to deal with both internal and external suppliers in a professional manner -Self-motivated and results oriented; strong organizational skills -Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles) will be considered for this position. -Ability to keep assigned work-area clean and organized per 5S standards. -Forklift and/or crane operation experience to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas. -High school diploma or GED required from an accredited institution. -Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without company sponsorship.
