The Role

Overview

Design and manage civil site development for rail projects.

Tasks

-Regularly coordinates with design team members, clients, sub-consultants, utility companies or other project stakeholders. -Assists with supervision of staff and task management on major projects. -Work with a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians in the site civil design and analysis as it relates to rail projects. -Will direct and coordinate work associated with the study and/or design of civil site development infrastructure systems, including but not limited to rail and stormwater. -Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members. -Serve as a team member on multi-disciplined projects. -Works with senior staff on technical aspects of a project. -Performs tasks requiring applications of standard civil engineering techniques and procedures. -Coordination of activities of several disciplines may be required for projects of significant or moderate scope, or a combination of smaller projects. -Assist task leaders and project managers with various project duties.

What You Bring

-Standard design of civil project work. -Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs. -Bachelor Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. and 7 years civil engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred. Required or -Ability to travel. -Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment. -Master Degree in Civil Engineering and 6 years civil engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred. Required -Professional Engineer (PE) License Preferred -Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment. -Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills. -Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications. -Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program. and 7 years civil engineering experience. EPC project experience preferred. Required or -Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
