Tasks

You will play a critical role in ensuring health and safety compliance, with particular focus on electrical safety in Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) environments. This is an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to the UK’s renewable energy transition by fostering a strong culture of safety and compliance across multiple project sites. -Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments on active BESS projects. -Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations, especially in energy and construction sectors. -Travel to project sites across the UK approximately 2 days per week -Lead and support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning. -Maintain and update safety records including RAMS, audit reports, incident logs, and training records. -Develop, implement, and maintain BESS-specific health and safety plans. -Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to employees and contractors. -Promote best practices in electrical safety, with emphasis on LV and HV systems. -Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to enforce and improve safety performance.

What You Bring

Location: Lancashire preferable - Travel to locations Middlesborough / Lancashire / Stoke / Bristol and other areas. We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to support our expanding portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. -Strong verbal and written communication skills -Ability to design and implement practical safety strategies and controls -NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification) – Essential -Background in the energy or construction sectors – experience in renewable energy or BESS projects preferred -Demonstrated experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations -Team player with collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with contractors and multi-disciplinary teams -Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols in LV and HV environments – Highly desirable -Confident delivering inductions, safety briefings, and training sessions -In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and applicable codes of practice
