Manage procurement and inventory supply for home improvement products.

Tasks

-Work with suppliers to obtain special deals, and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts. -Eliminate excess and unwanted merchandise by working with suppliers, and tracking and managing inventory levels to prevent shortages and minimize excess stock. -Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend action to management. -Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment. -Keep informed of pending price increases and new and obsolete products, and take the appropriate action to optimize opportunities and minimize inventory risks. -Monitor inventory and place orders to ensure proper stock levels are maintained. -Monitor vendor back-orders and source products from alternate vendors as necessary.

What You Bring

-Ability to juggle various work activities and shift their attention from one task to another to meet the demands of different stakeholders without “dropping the ball.” -Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access). -Experience in a supply chain/distribution setting, preferably within the home improvement industry. -Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. -Ability to logically connect ideas, scrutinize and evaluate arguments, find inconsistencies and errors in work, and solve complex problems. -2+ years of experience in corporate buying and planning within the home improvement industry. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels to communicate with internal and external stakeholders articulately. -Ability to provide timely and empathetic service through all communication channels keeping peer and customer needs first. -Less than 10% domestic travel required. -Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status). -Experience building reports and performing analytics using advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills. -Detail-oriented and can focus on the task at hand by finding the most efficient and effective pathway to completion. -Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, team-oriented environment and have a “roll up your sleeves” and “win every day” mentality. -Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. -Experience in a large direct-to-consumer organization.
