Tasks

-Collaborate with teams of peer researchers on new and continuing projects -Create intellectual property by writing invention disclosures and filing patents -Research, conceptualize, and develop AI solutions for hard industrial problems by developing and leveraging state-of-the-art capabilities in knowledge representation, graph neural networks (GNNs), generative AI, knowledge graphs (KGs), and advanced reasoning algorithms. -Employ software libraries (e.g., NetworkX, PyTorch Geometric), graph databases (e.g., Neo4j), and industry best practices to build scalable and reusable solutions. -Contribute to writing and securing grant proposals for internal and external funding. -Publish impactful research in top-tier scientific journals and at relevant conferences

What You Bring

-PhD focused on new advancements in KG and generative AI. -Hands-on experience with KG technologies and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j). -PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with a focus on Artificial Intelligence or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields with a minimum of 2 years of work experience with a focus on Artificial Intelligence -Demonstrate value of AI through early prototypes and solutions for real-world problems -Because of the specific categories of data handled by GE Vernova Advanced Research and the structure of our work environment, we are unable to accommodate employment of persons while they are considered nationals of countries subject to comprehensive restrictions under the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), 15 CFR Section 746 et seq. Please note that citizens of these countries who have either “U.S. person” status under U.S. export control laws or subsequent citizenship or permanent residency from a non-restricted country can be considered. -Familiarity with KG development and its applications in context of industrial systems. -Expertise in one or more of: (a) integrating LLMs in KG construction from structured and unstructured data, (b) using KG for automated reasoning with generative AI, and (c) creating knowledge graphs that federate and harmonize data from disparate sources. -Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals at the Master's level for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. -Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) to establish connection and retrieve knowledge or data. -Contribution to public domain codebases and/or significant GitHub portfolio to demonstrate mastery and impact. -Experience in writing grant proposals and participating in the execution of grant-supported research; includes demonstrated successful communication with government agencies such as DoE, ARPA-E, DoD, and DARPA -Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY -Demonstrated proficiency in programming with Python. -Familiarity with GenAI packages including models from OpenAI, Google, Meta, etc. and ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.
