  • May handle and move items up to 50 lbs for various needs.
  • Be able to calculate Asphalt and concrete placement and accurately document for correct material placed.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, sub-consultants, and clients
  • Be able to obtain material tickets and invoices on site to assure correct material is being delivered. File accurately in project files to back up calcs & drawings for audit.
  • Perform daily inspection and documentation of road and bridge construction projects and ensure conformance with contract documents.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend ladders into trenches or onto roofs when inspecting construction and land development sites.
  • Measurement, calculation, and computation of quantities and construction material usage. Create As-built drawings and prepare project pay items for Audit.
  • Traverse over rough terrain, and constantly position self to operate miscellaneous survey equipment.
  • Maintain daily reports of construction activities, including those of subcontractor activities.

  • Roadway and bridge construction inspection experience, preferably on Oklahoma Department Of transportation (ODOT) and/or Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA). AASHTO material testing training and certifications are considered a plus. Must be able to pass the exam within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, As-Builts, and associated contract documents.
  • Experience in Microsoft applications, Site Manager, and ProjectWise software. Be able to run Progressive estimates on above software.
  • May be subject to exposure to extreme outdoor weather conditions, hazardous materials and chemicals, heavy construction equipment, confined spaces, heights, and air and waterborne pathogens.
  • Required accountability due to handling public funds by issuing estimates from public agency to private contractors.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Excessive traffic violations and/or accidents during employment, will result in losing the privilege of operating company vehicle and possible termination.
  • Must be able to walk on unfinished grade and adjust to weather elements, throughout the year. This position is 90% working outside the office setting. Must be able to walk and stand in open air for long periods of time.
  • OSHA 10 certification, confined space certification, fall protection certification; are all a plus.
  • Ability to work well with supervision and coworkers and positively contribute to the work environment.
  • Knowledge of ODOT construction standards, specifications, and methods. Be able to interpret contracts & special provisions, plans and specifications.
  • Must be punctual. May require nighttime work. Due to nature of Construction Inspection, it may require working on weekends and Over time.
