Tasks
You’ll be responsible for leading electrical design and project delivery on a variety of building upgrade, retrofit, and modernization projects, helping improve the performance, efficiency, and longevity of existing facilities. The role blends technical expertise, project management, and client engagement, offering the chance to work on impactful projects across multiple sectors. -Mentor junior engineers and EITs, providing technical guidance and leadership. -Maintain strong client communication throughout project delivery and identify opportunities for ongoing work. -Lead and coordinate the conceptual and detailed design of electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communications. -Oversee project delivery, including design coordination, contract administration, and field reviews during construction. -Provide technical advisory services to clients on building upgrade and retrofit strategies. -Conduct assessments and condition reports on existing electrical systems and recommend upgrades. -Participate in internal design reviews and quality assurance checks to uphold technical standards. -Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code and BC Building Code.

Our client, a leading integrated design and construction firm, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer & Project Manager to join their Building Upgrades Team in Vancouver. This is a key leadership opportunity for a technically strong, client-focused professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. -Strong background in power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communications systems. -Experience preparing design drawings, specifications, feasibility studies, and cost estimates. -Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, BC Building Code, and National Building Code of Canada. -Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary project teams and maintain client relationships. -Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in electrical building design. -Experience with building upgrades, retrofits, or energy-efficiency projects considered an asset. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -P.Eng. designation in Electrical Engineering (or eligible for registration with EGBC).
