  • The Market Sector Leader will participate in social, civic, trade or professional organizations which support the marketing of the Public & Institutional sector and cultivate the firm’s brand.
  • Be a collaborative partner, providing innovative thinking into our projects, studio, and market delivery, promoting design research that advances our market strategy and be a leading voice with clients in the Region and within the Firm.
  • Become a leading voice within your market, in front of clients, sharing your thought leadership attending client-industry events, and conducting writing and speaking.
  • Act as Client advocate and perform other Client support and relationship responsibilities.
  • Provide project leadership and oversight of market team and assist as necessary to ensure quality, efficient delivery and profitable project performance, and innovative, responsive design.
  • Work closely with Business Development staff to nurture client relationships, develop new business and secure new clients.
  • Grow, develop, and build a team of direct reports, including conducting supervisory activities, staff coaching and development, communication, accountability, and growth planning.
  • Develop and position the firm for responding to RFPs and Solicitations including building strategic teaming relationships, evaluation, and Go/No-go process of opportunities for AE services and lead responses to active pursuits in collaboration with marketing staff and project personnel.
  • Establish annual business goals, strategies, and tactics to compliment the National Firm-wide P+I business plan with actionable items.
  • Assist Project Management by monitoring and reviewing the project performance and technical quality and in contract negotiations, and scope/fee negotiations with strategic partners.
  • Be committed to the diversity and inclusion and respect for all voices, fostering the creation of solutions that are resilient, improve the human condition and advance communities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully both verbally and in writing; ability to coordinate action across geographical locations.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving complex problems, determining program objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing strategies for guidance for the development of market sector projects.
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented with a professional attitude and personal charisma.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent client management, customer service orientation, writing and presentation skills and proven track record of successfully securing A/E related contracts and delivering on them.
  • Bachelor’s or higher Degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design, with a master’s in architecture or Bachelor of Architecture, preferred.
  • Extensive working knowledge of fee proposals, negotiations, and contract/subcontract administration.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues.
  • Professional expertise demonstrated through 8+ years of experience in design and leadership of similar projects.
  • Professional registration.
  • Strong project portfolio and subject matter expertise in at least one or more of the following: Governmental, Civic & Community projects, Historic / Adaptive Re-use, Workplace, Recreation, Library, Museum, Learning, and Higher Education, and clients.
  • Progressive ability, capacity, and aptitude to plan, organize, supervise and coordinate technical work and to obtain cooperation from others, capable of prioritizing and delegating assignments and responsibilities to all levels of Business Team personnel.
