Overview

Design and analyze building structures, produce documents, using structural software.

Tasks

-Prepare technical reports and specifications for buildings and other structures. -Work under the supervision of senior structural engineering staff to design and prepare plans for buildings and other structures. -Design a wide variety of new buildings and modifications to existing buildings. -Research and apply code requirements. -Prepare and review structural drawings and details. -Responsibilities may include assisting with structural condition assessments and construction observation, potentially requiring sporadic short-term (typically 1-3 days) out of town travel and overnight stays. -Perform structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structural elements utilizing structural design software.

What You Bring

-Proficiency in a structural analysis software (RISA, RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, SAP2000, or similar). -Licensed Professional Engineer (PE). -Minimum of 4 years of building design experience. -Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. -A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering. -Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. -Good communication and listening skills. -Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.). -Working knowledge of seismic design beneficial, but not required. -Experience with the production of structural construction documents. -Design experience in a variety of building types and materials. -Proficiency in modeling structures and producing construction drawings with Revit beneficial, but not required. -Master’s degree in structural engineering a plus. -Self-motivated learner with a passion for advancing personal expertise in structural engineering -Proficiency in Mathcad and Microsoft Excel software.
