Tasks
-Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction areas. -Monitor and conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections. Inspect company fire, safety, and environmental equipment and facilities for serviceability and compliance with established regulations, policies, and standards. -Analyze accident and incident reports for trends and make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions. Investigate accidents to minimize recurrence and prepare accident reports. -Compile data, photographs, etc.; prepare all pertinent forms and reports per program procedures and federal, state, local regulations associated with accidents. -Investigate personal injury and property damage accidents. -Assist in issuing various entry permits (i.e. to confined spaces) as required. -Conduct various air sampling, such as gas, 02, noise test to insure safe working conditions. -Assists, plans, & implements safety policies & procedures in compliance with local, state, & federal rules & regulations including Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) & Department of Transportation (DOT) -Identify, document and recommend resolution of hazardous/potentially hazardous conditions; follow through to ensure corrections have been made. -Oversee projects in various stages of construction, along with database development & maintenance for accident reporting & trend analysis -Review and/or revise safety specifications and procedures in conformance with departmental policy and OSHA regulations. -Promote the company safety culture and safety awareness throughout the company, projects, or office -Conduct routine and follow-up safety and hazard inspections of company facilities. -Assist in conducting employee/craft and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. May accompany federal, state and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. -Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs. -Maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record which, per Company’s vehicle policy, allows operation of a company vehicle.

-Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner -Ability to prioritize multiple projects -Ability to deliver quality through attention to detail -Ability to provide mentorship to less experienced team members -Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally -Ability to understand and implement best practice standards -Ability to follow-up on inquiries in a timely manner -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn company software quickly -Ability to provide performance management feedback and complete evaluations -Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or equivalent work-related experience. -Normal office environment with periods of time spent on construction sites and occupied customer facilities -Requires travel to job sites with periods of overnight travel -Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. -Ability to actively prioritize, lead, collaborate with, and function well within a team-oriented environment across multiple projects -2 years or more of related work experience preferred -Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedure manuals. -Knowledge of organizational structure and available resources -Depending on specific project, may require the following certifications: OSHA 500, OSHA 30 Hr, CHST, EM-385 -Ability to adapt to change and stress in the work environment and manage competing demands while maintaining high performance levels -This position may be required to use a ladder and work at tall heights (i.e. roof top access ladders, scissor-lift, scaffolding) -Ability to be proactive and resourceful -Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds -Excellent communication skills, verbal and written -Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude -Exhibit the ability to think strategically as it relates to business goals -Other work-related experience such as military, public service, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management -Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems -Occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, reaching above shoulder, climbing ladders -Exceptional organizational skills -Ability to build relationships with team members that transcend a project -Frequent activity: sitting, viewing, and typing on computer screen
