Tasks

-Under general supervision, assist with assigned aspects of the design, development, evaluation, and release of highly innovative models that elevate the customer experience and track impact over time. -Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. -A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations. -Under general supervision, assist with sourcing, collecting, compiling, and analyzing structured and unstructured data from the field work, surveys, blueprints, spreadsheets, financial reports, computer-generated reports, and other matrices and disparate sources. -Under general supervision, assist with preparing data, visualizations, and reports summarizing research and specifications with findings and conclusions; generating complete, accurate, and concise documentation using tables, charts, calculations, and illustrations. -Apply Statistical and Machine Learning methods to specific business problems and data. -Assist with professional deliverables on projects and proposals. -Complete training on assigned tasks. -Triage client requests to ensure project success to include completion in time and for the results to be useful. -Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including such areas as data sourcing/collection, ground truth generation, normalization, transformation, cleaning, validating, and cross-lingual alignment/mapping, etc. -Assist with performing basic professional data scientist work with identifying the data-analytics problems that offer the greatest opportunities to the assigned task.

What You Bring

-0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience working as a data scientist/analyst. -Familiarity with data management practices, performing exploratory data analysis, and employing research techniques. -Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. -Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, and effectively articulating complex data in a simple, actionable manner. -Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. -Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analysis or related field. -Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. -High level of mathematical acumen. -Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau), and big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark). -Familiarity with computer programing databases, coding and testing (e.g. SQL). -Familiarity with statistics and predictive models. -Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations, applying logic, and making decisions. -Proficient with Microsoft Excel. -Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
