  • Facilitate collaboration between various teams and departments involved in the project.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Utilise surveying equipment and technology to capture precise data and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the development of project specifications, scope of works, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure the successful execution of technical aspects of the project.
  • Provide technical advice and support to the Team, including surveyors, resident liaison officer, site supervisors, and other stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Respond flexibly to any necessary changes in work priorities and undertake other duties when required to support the effective operation of the service.
  • Attend project meetings, provide updates on technical aspects, and address any issues or concerns raised by stakeholders.
  • Review and agree/challenge contractors accounts including all variations in accordance with the contract requirements
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on survey findings, project progress, and technical issues to the Operations Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to maintain and enhance technical skills and knowledge.
  • Set the standard and continually improve the function and delivery of the surveying team
  • Compile regular contractor performance reports highlighting areas of concern and provide full details of performance against targets along with key performance indicators.
  • Ensure that health and safety requirements are met in accordance with the Group’s policy, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Stay updated on the latest surveying technologies, methods, and industry trends, and incorporate them into practice.
  • Implement and maintain strong contract management of subcontractors delivering projects, ensuring value for money is achieved along with quality of works
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the project are compliant with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Ensure internal business processes are followed in line with the Group’s policy, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Identify and rectify any quality issues or defects in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure all works meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations. Ensuring value for money is achieved
  • Ensure that all data protection requirements are met in accordance with the Group’s policy, procedures and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the project team to develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Prepare comprehensive survey reports, including condition assessments, measurements, and recommendations for necessary works.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Manage and monitor the pre, work in progress and post inspections conducted by the surveying team and provide timely reports on outcome of inspections, addressing any performance related issues
  • Ensure all documentation is organised and easily accessible for the team and stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed building surveys, inspections, and assessments to gather accurate data and identify any defects or issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all surveying activities, including drawings, plans, and technical reports.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong technical knowledge of surveying methods, technologies, and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements.
  • Proficient in surveying software and tools.
  • Evidence of using sound judgement when making effective decisions.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Relevant health and safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH General, or equivalent.
  • Effective stakeholder management, both internally and external to the organisation, including the ability to successfully persuade and influence others.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of construction methodologies, building regulations, health and safety standards, and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience of working within Social Housing
  • Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work at all levels within the business.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) is highly desirable.
  • In order to fulfil the requirements of this role, you will be required to work flexibly.
  • Experienced line management of a surveying team
  • It is a requirement that the role holder holds a current, valid UK driving licence.
  • Strong working knowledge and application of cost frame works including schedule of rates.
  • Qualified in HHSRS
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in technical surveying within the construction or property services industry, with a focus on damp & mould, major works and capital projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
